There are two options found in Settings related to GPS tasks.

GPS Active Time
The GPS Active Time setting is how long Impel will keep the device’s GPS hardware turned on in order to discover the current location. This setting is global and will apply to all GPS proximity tasks that you create in Impel.
You should set this time to the maximum value that your device needs in order to achieve a reliable GPS location fix. During our testing in an typical US industrial business setting, the GPS fix was achieved easily in 10 to 20 seconds. Test this out at your location and on your device to make sure it can reliably power up, get a fix and get accurate location data before accepting the default value.

GPS Idle Time
The GPS Idle Time setting is how long Impel will stay disconnected from the device’s GPS hardware between checks. This setting does not turn off the hardware GPS, nor does it enable the hardware GPS if it is disabled. This setting is global and will apply to all GPS proximity tasks that you create in Impel. You should set this time to the minimum value that your device needs in order to save battery life and still be able to deliver a reliable GPS location fix. This setting will likely be determined by trial and error, due to the speed of travel and amount of precision needed to trigger your tasks. Test this out at your location and on your device to make sure it can reliably trigger your events without consuming too much battery life.

To reach the new GPS settings, follow these steps:
1. Start Impel
2. Pressing the device’s “Menu” button, then the “Settings” button
3. Notice the two new options called “GPS Active Time” and “GPS Idle Time”
4. Tap on either “GPS Time” option to enter in a value in seconds to change
5. The default value for active time is 30 seconds
6. The default value for idle time is 120 seconds
